Founded in Denver, Colorado, in 1901, the Supreme Camp of the American Woodmen was a national African American fraternal and mutual aid association. The organization had chapters, called Tents, across the country. The American Woodmen Life Insurance Company, a subsidiary of the Camp, provided mutual benefit life insurance to members of the Supreme Camp.
