Harriet Tubman moved to Auburn, New York, with her family in 1857. The Harriet Tubman National Historical Park educates visitors on Tubman’s life, her work on the Underground Railroad, and her continued activism in New York. The National Historical Park site encompasses Tubman's residence, the Tubman Home for the Aged, and the Thompson Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, which she helped establish.
